Bens Ranch Foundation small group assessments, training sessions and small group programs require volunteers who commit to provide supervision and assistance at programs in their area. This is a hands-on role working directly with our young applicants and participants. These roles require participation for several hours on one day--typically Saturdays--or to a program with several pre-set dates. Volunteers may serve at as many sessions as their schedules allow. Some brief training is required, but no license or credentials are required. Experience in education, equine therapy, social work, youth programming, or farm and livestock operations is especially helpful. Mentors agree to work along side an intern or intern candidate during training, trial work sessions at a prospective host-employer site and during an internship. They provide emotional support, assistance and guidance for interns who may need assistance as they learn a new role in a new environment.
